If you have noticed water seeping through your basement’s concrete walls and the floor, and if you have experienced a damp or flooded basement, or if there is moisture and condensation on the basement walls and floor; these can all be symptoms of water problems which may potentially result in serious structural damage to the foundation of your home. They may also indicate harmful molds and mildew and other major unseen hazards to your family’s health, such as unsafe levels of radon gas. This moisture may even cause stress cracks in the walls and concrete flooring triggering a cave-in, if it isn’t addressed immediately.
Our Chicago-area staff utilize professional-grade pumping, extracting, and drying equipment that will minimize the possibility of microbial growth and decrease the amount of time that your home or office is “out of commission.” We even use special instruments that detect and eliminate hidden pockets of water, and we can also work with your insurance company to help file and process damage claims.

Water Damage

After any water damage situation, your primary focus should be safety first

Call Us immediately to take action to stop the source of water intrusion and help you with water damage claim. Wet materials can be VERY heavy. Be careful!

Electrical and "slip and fall" hazards are some of the most prevalent concerns.

Don't use television or other household appliances.

Don't turn on ceiling fixtures if ceiling is wet, and keep out of rooms where ceilings are sagging.

Don't leave books, magazines or other colored items on wet carpet or floors.

Don't use your household vacuum to remove water.

Do not store damp items in plastic bags where mold can grow.

Wash wet clothes, sheets and linens immediately and hang cleanable fabrics up to dry.

Remove valuable paintings and art objects to a secure and dry place.

Stay out of rooms where wet ceilings are sagging.

Dispose of all food that became wet - do not eat it. Food in glass containers can be kept only if the floodwater did not reach the lid, but the jar must be washed in warm soapy water and rinsed.

Remove all toxic chemicals such as pesticides from the flooded area to prevent further contamination and the mixing of chemicals.

In almost all cases of basement flooding, city tap water will remain safe. However, whether you have city or well water, do not turn on the faucets below flood level until the water recedes.
